I think a pro of using WordPress is that anyone can use it to make a website regardless of their experience level. Since many of WordPress’ features are beginner-friendly, anyone can ease their way into the swing of things. Another pro is that the WordPress directories have a variety of free plugins and themes to choose from. All themes and plugins are verified to be safe, so people can utilize them without worrying about downloading potential viruses and malware. The final pro is that WordPress is open source, which means source code can easily be redistributed. This can help developers and site owners to create projects efficiently while saving time.
A con of using WordPress is that some additional features cost money. This applies to needing to pay for access to more plugin features and additional site customization. This is a downside because full customization is limited for those who may not afford the extra costs. Another con is that the open-source aspect of WordPress can attract hackers. Since the source code isn’t secure, hackers may try to alter it to input malware on websites and risk users’ safety. The final con is that WordPress can take some time to get accustomed to for new users. Even though WordPress is user-friendly, it reaps more benefits when users take some time to learn how to develop a website.
The most difficult thing I had to do in WordPress was sign back into my admin dashboard after I lost access. I kept having issues with my email or username not being registered on the site. And trying to reset my password was strenuous because the email would never send. A WordPress troubleshooting forum, unfortunately, did not help my situation. After a stressful few days, I was able to fix the issue and regain access to my WordPress admin.
